Albizia
Albizia (Falcataria moluccana, sometimes called Paraserianthes falcataria) is an introduced, fast-growing species that has proliferated in lowland areas of Hawaiʻi Island. It is often considered invasive, forming tall stands with brittle wood prone to storm damage.

Although Albizia can reach impressive heights and girths, its wood is relatively weak and not commonly used for high-value lumber. Some local artisans experiment with smaller pieces for craftwork, but large-scale commercial harvest is uncommon due to safety hazards when felling and the invasive nature of the species. In many cases, Albizia removal is part of invasive species control rather than standard forestry. Its tendency to topple in high winds has prompted municipal and community-led eradication efforts, rather than any stable timber market.
